Happy Saint Vincent's Day !

Did you know that Saint Vincent is the patron saint of wine growers? Traditionally in many French wine growing regions a mass is celebrated followed by a "Vin d'honneur"( reception) afterwards, where all the notables make speeches and hand out awards and diplomas. The actual feast day is tomorrow, January 22nd, but in our village we will be celebrating today. So yesterday we were all busy cleaning  and decorating our church in Gyé. The church doesn't get used too often anymore, so we had our work cut out for us!

 Aujourd'hui nous fêtons Saint Vincent, le Saint Patron des vignerons. La tradition veut qu'on célèbre une messe, suivie d'un vin d'honneur. Hier nous étions occupé à nettoyer et décorer notre église à Gyé Sur Seine. Malheureusement, l'édifice ne sert plus beaucoup, donc nous avons eu pas mal de boulot !
